It is my great pleasure to invite you to the 37th International Symposium on Power Semiconductor Devices and ICs (ISPSD2025), to be held June 1-5, 2025, at the Kumamoto-Jo (Castle) Hall in Kumamoto, Japan. Since 1988, ISPSD has been the premier international forum for technical discussions on all aspects of power semiconductor devices and integrated circuits. The ISPSD conference site rotates among Europe, Japan, North America and Other Areas and will return to Japan again in 2025. Looking back four years, owing to the outbreak of COVID-19, the ISPSD2021 conference scheduled to be held at the Nagoya Congress Center was cancelled, and all events of ISPSD2021 were held online. Even under these circumstances, our community has been strengthened, the power semiconductor industry has developed strongly, and the Academy's research has become more active around the world, especially in Asian countries and regions. Kumamoto is located in the center of Kyushu Island and is a region rich in history with abundant nature, including Kumamoto Castle, the iconic symbol of the region, even after the earthquake damage; Mount Aso, an active volcano among the largest calderas in the world; many onsens (hot springs), such as Kurokawa-onsen; Amakusa Islands, known for their beautiful scenery and local cuisine such as the famous "Kumamoto Ramen". Kumamoto and surrounding area in Kyushu Island are also known for its semiconductor industry including power semiconductor industry. For ISPSD2025, we have adopted a new paper selection scheme with the approval of the Advisory Committee. Authors will be requested to submit four-page final papers to be reviewed and selected for presentation at ISPSD2025. The new paper selection scheme will benefit all authors by reducing the time to publication and improving the quality of papers, as papers will be selected based on final versions instead of their abstracts. We appreciate your cooperation with the new paper selection scheme. ISPSD2025 is fully sponsored by the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ) and technically co-sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Electron Devices Society, Power Electronics Society, and Industry Application Society.
